Adventure Racing World Championship - ARWC 2026

From September 27 to October 9, 2026, Corsica will host the Adventure Racing World Championship (ARWC 2026). Nearly 100 teams from more than 30 countries will take on an extreme challenge: covering 500 km completely on their own—through hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and orienteering—in the heart of Corsica’s landscapes. The course, connecting Corte to L’Ile-Rousse, promises a spectacular journey through the sea and mountains and will bring together the world’s top adventure racing athletes. -- Schedule -- - Corte - September 27–29 – Place Tuffelli: Team check-in, technical tests, and equipment checks September 29: At 4:30 p.m., Team Parade – Place Tuffelli At 5:00 p.m., Competitors’ briefing – University of Corte At 6:30 p.m., Opening ceremony and cocktail reception At 8:30 p.m., Captains’ Q&A September 30 – Citadel: At 9:00 a.m., Prologue From 4:00 PM to 7:45 PM, Equipment distribution to teams At 5:00 PM, Media briefing October 1 – Cours Paoli: At 6:00 AM, Grand start of the race - L’Ile-Rousse - October 6–9 - Beach and downtown: Teams’ finish October 9 – Place Paoli: 6:30 p.m., Closing ceremony and gala dinner A spectacular event where endurance, strategy, and team spirit will be the keys to overcoming this one-of-a-kind challenge.
