Exploring Lisula means discovering a region that stretches far beyond the coastline. L’Isula – L’Ile-Rousse – is the gateway to this region, opening onto the Balagne where the sea remains close by whilst the roads lead towards the villages, wind through the valleys and climb into the hills of the interior. Each former pieve has its own geography, its own landscapes and a history that can still be seen in the layout of the villages and the paths that link them.

From Reginu to Ghjunsani – Giussani, and from Ostriconi to the villages overlooking the coast, Lisula changes its character within a few kilometres. Unspoilt areas lie alongside cultivated land, the maquis gives way to forests, and traces of the past accompany a local way of life that remains very much alive. Exploring the destination means following these connections between L’Isula, the villages and their surroundings to gain a better understanding of the Balagne and then choosing the routes that will inspire you to explore it.
