Labels and commitments

A quality mark provides guidance on the commitments made by an accommodation provider, a site or a professional. Whether it concerns the quality of the welcome, the standard of facilities, services tailored to a particular activity, an environmental approach or the promotion of local agricultural produce: each quality mark adheres to a set of standards and specific criteria. In Lisula and the Balagne region, several businesses and venues are part of these recognised schemes, which are monitored by the organisations that administer them.

European Ecolabel

The European Ecolabel is theEuropean Union’s official environmental label. For tourist accommodation, it certifies a commitment to reducing environmental impacts, particularly in terms of water and energy consumption, waste and the products used, whilst maintaining the quality of the service provided.

Respect

Founded in Corsica, the Rispettu association supports professionals in the hospitality sector in their efforts to achieve more sustainable tourism, tailored to the island’s specific circumstances. Its regional label sets out commitments that combine environmental management, the local economy and the promotion of Corsican identity, centred around several action plans.

Green Key

Clef Verte is a sustainable tourism label aimed primarily at tourist accommodation and restaurants. Its criteria cover environmental management, water, energy, waste, responsible procurement, biodiversity and raising visitors’ awareness. In France, it is run by the Teragir association.

FFC mountain biking sites

Awarded by the French Cycling Federation (FFC), the Site VTT-FFC® label recognises areas offering a well-organised mountain biking programme. In particular, it guarantees signposted and well-maintained routes, a rating system for trails based on four levels of difficulty, and dedicated services for mountain bikers.

Outstanding Garden

Awarded by the Ministry of Culture for a renewable five-year period, the ‘Jardin remarquable’ label recognises parks and gardens open to the public that are of cultural, aesthetic, historical or botanical interest. The quality of maintenance, the welcome given to visitors and consideration for the environment are also among the criteria.

Gîtes de France – Corsica

The Gîtes de France brand recognises accommodation that meets a national quality charter. The establishments are visited and inspected, with criteria focusing in particular on comfort, hospitality and the quality of services provided. In Corsica, the network is adapted locally to suit the island’s accommodation options.

Clévacances Corsica

Clévacances is a French quality scheme for holiday lettings and guesthouses. Accommodation bearing the Clévacances label is inspected and assessed in accordance with a set of criteria covering, in particular, hospitality, comfort, facilities and services. The level of certification is indicated by a star rating.
