Ghjunchitu Beach

Ghjunchitu Beach

Just beyond Bodri, Ghjunchitu beach stretches out into a more open and secluded bay. Accessible via the same footpath, it offers a different atmosphere – one that is just as natural – where the landscape takes centre stage.

Getting there

A beach where time stands still

After a few minutes’ walk from the car park, or along the coastal path from Bodri, Ghjunchitu comes into view, appearing more spacious and unobstructed. The sand here is light in colour, the bay opens out widely onto the sea, and the scrubland slopes down almost to the beach.

Here, the facilities are unobtrusive, allowing nature to take centre stage: the beach is experienced just as it is, amidst the sea, the wind and the light. You settle down, let your gaze wander towards the horizon and savour the vastness that nature offers us.

A family-friendly beach… when the sea is calm

As at Bodri, the water is shallow and swimming is still possible when the sea is calm. Children can play at the water’s edge in the clear, sparkling sea.

But Ghjunchitu is more exposed. When the wind picks up, particularly the mistral, the sea becomes rougher and the waves can be strong. The beach then takes on a different, more dynamic atmosphere, becoming a real playground for surfing enthusiasts.

For a tasty break, restaurants await food lovers at either end of the beach.
