The four hamlets
Santa-Reparata defies the notion of a single centre. U Poghju, Palmentu, Occiglioni and Alzia form a cluster spread across the hillside, where each hamlet retains its old houses and its own character.
The place-names speak volumes: U Poghju refers to the heights, whilst Palmentu preserves the precise memory of the grape press. In Occiglioni, the façades look out over the valley, flanked in Palmentu by two ancient towers that serve as a reminder of the historical need to guard the access points. Walking through these different places is like reading the history of a diverse community, united by the same landscape.
