Straddling the sea and the scrubland at Lisula

A wild escape to the rhythm of hooves

On horseback

Exploring Lisula on horseback means slowing down, taking the back roads and discovering the countryside from an animal’s perspective. From wild beaches to unspoilt valleys, fragrant scrubland and forgotten paths, every ride invites you to experience nature in a different way. Whether it’s for a few hours, a whole day or simply a moment to connect with the horses: here, adventure unfolds to the rhythm of the horses’ hooves.

Galloping along the Mediterranean coast

The morning light on L’Osari – Losari beach, the scents of the maquis accompanying the horse’s first steps, the steady clatter of hooves on the sandy paths…Some rides seem to make time stand still. On the rides offered around L’Osari and Palasca, the sea is often in view. The routes wind their way between the hills and the coast before reaching the beach, where the most memorable moments are sometimes spent with your feet in the water. In the summer months, some rides are extended with a swim on horseback in the crystal-clear waters of L’Osari or a private ride at sunset, when the last rays of light set the gulfs ablaze.

A different perspective on Lisula and the Balagne

Leave the beach behind and head up to the heights of Palasca, follow a path lined with maquis, cross a river and then continue inland. On horseback, the landscape gradually reveals itself, without the noise of engines or the pressure of time. Rides lasting several hours allow you to explore a more secluded side of Balagne, made up ofagricultural valleys, ancient paths and panoramic views that unfold as you round a ridge. It’s another way to travel through the region, at your horse’s own pace.

My earliest memories of riding a pony

For the youngest children, their first encounter with a pony is often amemorable experience. A walk along the paths, a few strokes, time to groom their companion for the day or take part in games in the great outdoors. Through rides, themed day camps and taster courses, children get to know the animals whilst building confidence and independence. A gentle adventure where the sense of wonder is sometimes just as important as the ride itself.
