Down the white water

When the river leads the way

White water

Less than an hour from Lisula, the mountain rivers open the doorto a different side of Corsica. A world of natural pools carved into the rock, waterfalls hidden deep in the valleys, and torrents rushing down the mountains. From introductory canyoning to the most challenging descents, whilst rafting on the Golo, every trip invites you to explore the island’s interior by water.

First experiences on white water

Canyoning is a gentle way to explore, and you don’t need to be particularly fit to give it a go. The routes, specially designed for families and beginners, allow you to get to grips with the river as you navigate its natural obstacles: sliding down water-smoothed slides, swimming across crystal-clear pools, tackling a few short abseils or choosing to jump… or not. The level of difficulty can be adapted to suit everyone, and the guides accompany the group throughout the descent. The Kids Canyon and family discovery trips allow everyone to experience the thrills gently, at theirownpace and with complete confidence.

Pushing yourself to the limit in the canyons

When the urge to push further arises, the canyons of Central Corsica reveal a whole new side to themselves. The descents become longer, abseils follow one after another at the foot of waterfalls, pools follow one after another through granite gorges, and certain sections demand greater commitment. Here, the route is always led by a qualified guide who adapts the pace to the group’s ability and assists with every crossing.

The Richiusa, the Verghellu, the Tavignanu, the Vecchio and the Manganellu are among the routes offered by the various partners for a true immersion in the mountains. Some routes focus on long abseils and vertical sections, whilst others alternate between long swims, jumps, natural slides and walking in the river for several hours.

To the beat of the Golo

Whilst canyoning is a thrilling experience, rafting offers another way to enjoy white water. On board the same raft, everyone plays their part in moving forward by following the guide’s instructions. Thrilling rapids alternate with calmer stretches, perfect for a swim and taking in the scenery. On the Golo, Corsica’s largest river, this group adventure combines bursts of laughter, thrills and team spirit before a return journey by 4×4 to the base. A friendly activity, suitable for all levels depending on the season and the river’s flow.
