Getting started

The LisulaTrail Centre offers short introductory trail running routes, specially designed for beginners or those wishing to ease themselves into the sport. These signposted routes start from L’Ile Rousse, providing easy and convenient access. The routes follow terrain that is not particularly technical, with minimal elevation gain, making them perfect for a first outing.

A gentle start

The Trail Initiation Route No. 1, starting from the COSEC in L’Ile-Rousse, is the perfect route for a gentle introduction to trail running. Stretching 3.74 km with 115 m of elevation gain, it offers an accessible loop that alternates between short climbs and rolling sections, at altitudes ranging from 27 m to 140 m. This route allows you to quickly enjoy the scenery around L’Ile-Rousse along old paths through densely populated agricultural and pastoral areas, whilst building up your endurance and technique on natural terrain. Depending on your pace, it takes between 25 and 50 minutes to complete.

A discovery walk suitable for everyone

The AndettaTrail No. 2, starting from L’Ile-Rousse, is a complete and accessible loop. Stretching 10.43 km with 260 m of elevation gain, the route begins by following the coastline of L’Ile-Rousse, offering superb views of the sea and the islands. It then heads inland along narrow paths and shaded tracks, without any particular technical difficulty. The route passes, notably, through the Bocca di Casa Dieca pass, which offers a magnificent viewpoint over L’Ile-Rousse and its surroundings. Suitable for all, this circular route usually takes between 1 and 2 hours to complete, at altitudes ranging from 2 m to 146 m, and is an ideal outing for discovering the diversity of the area’s trail running terrain.
