Getting there

Understanding distillation

The tour takes place on the estate, where fields of murza – immortelle – grow alongside various aromatic plants. As the tour progresses, Pierre-Louis and his family share the secrets of cultivation, the harvesting cycle and the unique characteristics of this golden flower that brightens up the maquis.

The tour continues at the still. The distillation demonstration reveals the techniques and precision required to extract essential oils and hydrosols. It is a meticulous craft in which every detail contributes to the excellence of the final product.

A journey through scents and botany

The tour continues in the estate’s pagliaghju, where you’ll find the cosmetics derived from the farm’s produce. Just a few steps away, a small botanical trail laid out on the estate showcases the various endemic species and reveals the bounty of the maquis. The fragrances waft through the air and become more refined, a genuine invitation to awaken the senses and take a fresh look at the endemic flora of the Balagne.
