Every Monday, explore the coastline of L’Ile-Rousse with Edel. This 4-kilometer botanical and heritage walk reveals the treasures of Corsican flora against a backdrop where the sea, the maquis, and Mediterranean scents come together.

Discover the landscapes of the Balanin coastline on a botanical and historical walk guided by Edel. A nature enthusiast, she enthusiastically shares her knowledge of the maquis plants and local ecosystems. Starting from L’Ile-Rousse, this approximately 8-km round-trip route winds through a mosaic of landscapes between the sea and the maquis. Edel will accompany you for the first 4 kilometers of the hike before you make your own way back. Along the way, the scents of the maquis blend with the ocean views, offering a deep immersion in the heart of Corsican nature. This outing allows you to identify the coastline’s iconic species and gain a better understanding of the interactions between the flora and its environment. Accessible to everyone, this hike combines discovery, observation, and shared experiences to explore the region’s natural treasures in a unique way. What to bring: Water (1.5 L per person) - Sneakers or hiking shoes (no sandals) - Hiking clothes - Cap or hat - Sunscreen. One-way distance: 4 km / return trip at your own pace - Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes - Meet 10 minutes before each departure at the Caruchettu Beach parking lot. The trail may include elevation changes and uneven terrain. Good physical condition and the ability to walk comfortably are required.
