- Presentation -
A Cumpagnia, founded in 1978 in Pigna, is a group of singers and musicians with a passion for traditional Corsican music. They perform a repertoire of sacred polyphonic songs, from popular repertoire to Franciscan chants, as well as secular songs such as Paghjella, Madrigali and Lamenti d'amour. Their voices recount stories of love, revenge, daily life and significant events, perpetuating the memory of Corsica's different pieve.
Through the reconstitution of a popular instrumentarium and the work of craftsmen, traditional Corsican instruments - cètera, pirula, pivana, cialamella - find their letters of nobility, accompanied by violin, clarinet, trumpet and percussion. Between tradition and creation, the group expresses itself with a perfect mastery of the island's poetic and musical structures, making Corsican culture vibrate with every note.
