Description
The Balinese trio Meridianu invites you to discover their world, where tradition and modernity meet. Drawing on Corsican heritage, they bring polyphonic singing and paghjella to life, mixing ancient repertoire with contemporary creations.
Since its birth in Balagne, Meridianu has drawn its inspiration from the richness of Corsican heritage and the power of its polyphonic voices. Faithful to tradition yet open to the world, the group brings Corsican song to life, between authenticity and contemporary creation.
For several years now, the Meridianu trio has been singing and playing with voices and instruments (guitar, cetera, violin, accordion and other craft instruments), exploring both the traditional repertoire, including the UNESCO World Heritage paghjella, and new creations inspired by everyday life on the island and around the world.
Committed to transmission, the group introduces young singers and choirs to the various forms of Corsican song, convinced that only rigor and creativity can fully express this living heritage. Each concert is an invitation to share Corsican culture, emotion and memory with a loyal, knowledgeable audience.
